Brewery X

One of the things I love to talk about is the perfect brewery.  It is also a strip club and gun range in case you are wondering.  When you talk about the perfect brewery you spend very little time on the beer and instead focus on how many foosball tables, dart boards, ping pong table…….you’ll have.  The culture of the craft beer lifestyle brings about envy.
Brewery X is “the brewery with no beer.”  Brewery X is more or less a design and marketing firm that will give away bottles of water with original art work on the labels at beer festivals and popular bars.  The lead brand is “Snake Oil Ale.” The name “Snake Oil” reminds us of turn of the century traveling sales people that sold “Snake Oil” that would cure everything from the common cold to cancer.  Much in the same way major beer companies sell their beer today.
The whole point of Brewery X is to get people to question what they put in their body.  If you know it is water you don’t have to focus on taste and can instead look at the bottle without trying to tie the visual and taste together.  Brewery X also gives design people an outlet for their art.
Education is the goal of Brewery X.

Target Field Trip

When I mention the “mudduck menace” that is the root of all problems in Wisconsin hopefully you get the joke.  Living in North West Central Wisconsin going to the Twin Cities is easier than the trek down to Milwaukee.  We have it so good in America we have the concept of free time.  I spend that free time drinking beer, watching sports, and bitching about shit.  Pretty sure those are also hobbies you have as well.

Great Art Silences

Unlike most radio shows I really don’t go into to great of detail about the music I play.  Just don’t.  I sound smug when I do.  So I’ll just keep up not saying anything.
There is a great story out there about Hendrix playing in London.  It goes after his first few shows in London no one clapped, they just stood there in awe.  They knew there’d be plenty of more times to clap.  Right then and there what he was doing was just so far out there that the only reaction was to have none.
I’ve been to loads of great art museums.  The same thing happens.  You stop in awe and never want to create anything again when confronted with such greatness.
Beer is Wisconsin’s most cherished and celebrated Art Form.  What is going on right now in our state is the envy of the World. Tradition is being broken and upheld.  And everyone doing so is enjoying themselves greatly.

Episode 24: Dave's Brewfarm

The Format

The best things I do as “wisconsinbeerun” are talk to people and take pictures.  When I write about beer I often let my emotions come out.  That is because I’m really, really into Beer.  Now that I have to deal with the FCC I have to lock into a radio friendly format.  Or I can get fined fucktons of money.
Here it is: Station Id, Interview(s), Soliloquy, Music.
I’m also working on the paperwork for a nonprofit.  The number one goal of “wisconsinbeerun” is to educate.  The Station Id now includes the phrase “educating the world about Wisconsin Beer.”  Turning a Beer Radio Show into a nonprofit I feel is an awesome idea.
Like Dante Alighieri I use vernacular in my facebook and blog posts.  It is halfway through my life and I “Find Myself in a Dark Wood.”  Hopefully one day I’ll “Notice the Stars” again.

Eau Claire Craft Beer Week in Pictures

It was great to see all the Beer People in the Chippewa Valley and Northern Wisconsin get together for Eau Claire Craft Beer Week. Two Beer Fests, a Beer Dinner, a Real Ale Night, Special Tastings and Happy Hour Prices all week. What an event! Next year will only get better.
